MILK TEA

Updated: Jul 30, 2020

Drinks inspired by Avatar the Last Air Bender's Uncle Iroh: Part 3

I was scrolling through Twitter at 5 am one morning and came across ATLA's Jasmine Dragon Menu.

It talked about a tea drink with cream, sugar, and tapioca pearls which ultimately inspired me to make this.

MILK TEA

  1. 1 cup of water

  2. 2 - 3 black tea bags

  3. 1 cup of milk

  4. 2 - 3 tablespoons sugar (preference)

  5. creamer (optional)

Heat up your water to just before boiling and throw in your teabags. Let the tea bags brew for 1 - 2 minutes before taking it out. Pour in your milk and let it simmer for a few minutes — making sure it doesn't boil. Once off the heat, add in your sugar and creamer while the milk tea is still warm. Both the sugar and creamer is really up to your preference; I just enjoy an excessive amount of sugar and creamer.

Let the milk tea mixture cool down or leave it in the fridge overnight— not sure if it's some sort of placebo effect or not but I really think it tastes better the next day as the flavors get to develop more.

Add in some boba to fully mimic the feeling of being inside a boba shop because you haven't been to one in months because of quarantine !!

I don't say this enough but thank you for all the supporting me :-)
